So long Google+, we hardly knew ye.

The “fun stuff” mentioned earlier – getting creative:

This took quite a while to model, but I somehow managed to mess up the kerning (UNI V E G A !) I also didn’t care for the wood-like texture at first, but it’s growing on me.

The irony continues… the old headset was all metal, the new one uses plastic seals.

In it’s defense, all of the thirty year old plastic on this machine looks fairly pristine, while the chromed metal parts have plenty of “patina”. Also, the older headset had a visible gap between the races and the bearings were pretty filthy. The newer one should stay cleaner, at least.

But… it doesn’t look quite as cool without knurls. Or maybe it just needs some patina.
